I personally found the peer profile as kind of strange because I had never done an assignment like that before. The assignment definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone because it forced me to have to interview someone (which was already a little nerve-racking because I’m shy) and have to write about them while connecting who they are as a person to their style of writing. This was all quite a new experience for me and, for me at least, it was not really a pleasant one to go through. I am thankful that through the interview I got to learn more about one of my classmates and feel more connected to them but having to make a rhetorical analysis and connecting their personality and ideas to their style of writing was not a fun process to go through. I felt like for the majority of this assignment I had experienced writer’s block, which only made me feel frustrated because I did not know how to proceed with my writing to capture who my peer was and how their writing reflected that. To top it off, I don’t typically enjoy writing, so it already felt like I was forcing myself to do something I don’t enjoy doing. I value writing and recognize its importance, but since it is almost never something I look forward too, writing tends to be something I struggle with and would prefer to avoid. This assignment was one of those that reminded me of why I tend to dislike the writing process and would much prefer doing things like math or science work over writing.
